FLOYD MAYWEATHERS SLUGS OFF WITH MANNY PACQUIAO ALL OTHER AGAIN!

Floyd Mayweather can’t seem to agree on anything about Manny Pacquiao. This time around, Floyd is against Manny! Once again it's not slugging it out in the ring but blabbing in the media. This time they're fighting over gay marriage. Floyd tweeted a counter-statement Manny's controversial condemnation of gay marriage: "I stand behind President Obama & support gay marriage." He added, "I'm an American citizen & I believe people should live their life the way they want."Read post

YOU’RE SAFE WITH JASON STATHAM

Jason Statham was once a member of the British National Diving Team and finished 12th in the 1992 World Championships. He was also a fashion model, securing the audition for his debut role, in Guy Ricthie’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998), through French Connection, for whom he was working. He teamed up with Ritchie again for Snatch (2000) and then Revolver (2005). Other notable movies include a trio of Transporter films (2002, 2005, 2008), the blockbuster remake of The Italian Job (2003), Crank (2006), War (2007), The Bank Job (2008), Death Race (2008), The Expendables (2010), The Mechanic (2010) and last year’s Killer Elite. He is currently shooting the action-thriller Hummingbird. In SAFE, he plays Luke Wright, a man who loses everything but who learns to live, and kill, again…

You’re in the middle of Hummingbird, which sounds a bit mental. What’s it all about?
It is a difficult one to talk about. How can I put this? There are a lot of different ways that you can say what the movie is about. I think the thrust of it is a guy whose encounter with a nun has a very significant impact and I don’t want to say much more than that, but it is a terrific fucking script. Steve Knight who has written it has done some brilliant screenplays. This is just full of really emotional stuff that I never get to do, so we’ll see how it goes.

Did you fancy getting a bit emotional?
Yes, yes. It is a good reason for doing it and the shoot’s at home with good locations. I always want to come back and do a film in the UK because you get so wrapped up in working away all the time. When you come home you realize, ‘Hang on, this is a great way of making films.’ The crew is so small that you get more intimate and you learn everybody’s name in two minutes. There’s not like ten cameras running at the same time. We are running on one camera, which is very unusual. The DP is an old school sort of a chap, using single cameras. It is a quite a hea-scratcher; you never usually see that.

In Safe, Luke is a very hard man but has an air of vulnerability about him. That must be one of things that attracted you to the film?
Producer] Lawrence Bender was the chap who said, ‘You have never done anything like this’, and he was right. I normally play the indestructible hero who doesn’t have much to get down about so, yes, this is certainly something that I don’t get to do that often.Hummingbird, though, is another step beyond that. Far more dramatic. For me there’s no question. We are only three weeks into shooting that film, so we still have a lot to do. I don’t want to jeopardize anything.

Safe has emotion as a driving force, as much the action, maybe?
Yeah, this guy has lost everything he has and is on the verge of giving up. But a chance encounter gives him a reason to live again. I liked that idea.

Are you trying to do films with a little more depth?
You can only eat the food that’s on the table but if an opportunity comes your way, you have to analyse the quality of it. You either go to work or you sit on your arse. The thing is do you wait for the perfect role or wait for the perfect script or do you go to work and take something from that experience? I feel the more you do, somewhere along the line you are Read post

IN/SIGHT: DAVID ARCHULETA’S NANDITO AKO EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS By EDGAR O. CRUZ

21/02/2012 05:09:22
The best expectations for Nandito Ako’s pilot last night happened without too much effort!

On its first airing, lead actor David Archuleta appeared when the mini-serye opted to start with David singing the team song in a grand concert in the present time. This effective technique avoided fans from waiting in case of a straight retelling of the story.

Nandito opted for straight narrative allowing logical storytelling and avoiding the use of flashbacks that could be confusing to young viewers.

A fast-paced series, the first edition managed to summarize a plausible start-up story in all of 45 minutes, from the back story of Josh Bradley, David’s character, how he got separated from his mother (as played by G Tongi) to live abroad and his decision to return to the country as a singing idol. Director Mac Alejandre effectively mixed big and small scenes to recreate the story, mixing tenderness and tension to kick off a story worth following.

Early at this point, it shows that Nandito Ako is enjoying heavy placements from advertisers. Even before it could start, commercials started airing. This distribution scheme was effective enough to prevent viewers from thinking/feeling they were watching TVCs instead of the drama series.

Willie Revillame’s Wil Time Big Time ended right on time at exactly 9:15 p.m., preventing viewers from waiting which could have led them to channel surf or dose off if it aired overtime.

Nandito Ako should set up a model for TV5 how to do its shows. Instead of keeping up with competition, it must create its own rules. By featuring an actor with real instead of expected demand, TV5 effectively focused on the show’s promotion instead of creating demand for it.

If I were you, I will not rely on the ratings charts as Kantar Media / TNS and People’s Rating will naturally report ABS-CBN and GMA-7 ratings respectively as superior to TV5’s for the timeslot. If you enjoyed Nandito Ako, that’s enough proof it’s a blockbuster hit!

Enjoying it. Big Fan of David Archuleta from USA and we're watching on stream from TV5. Hope to get DVD after it airs with English Captions. Impressed with TV5, The Director, The Cast and eveyone David worked with. We are also hoping for NanditoAko on Itunes eventually. We know Wherever You Are will be on CD and will be ordering CD.

I'm from the USA and I love it.. (I stream the show every morning from TV5 online) it was brilliant to place David Archuleta in this role as Josh.. his fans (young and older lol) are world wide, supportive of everything he does and LOVE him to pieces..I'm really impressed with the show thus far... saw first 2 episodes now.. it's sooooo much better than soaps here in the states... and who could resist the smile of David A. !!
